Be2Awards Website Built Using dotCommunity

Be2camp help the architecture, engineering, construction and related industries to think about and deploy Web 2.0 tools and techniques.  This year sees the world's first awards for social media in the built environment.

The Be2Awards website was built by Paul Wilkinson from Be2camp using Cambridge Open Systems' dotCommunity application suite, and makes the most of the standard applications available in the package including:

• Discussions - where users can suggest and discuss award nominations
• Polls – to allow users to vote for the shortlisted award nominees
• Blogger – to stream the latest updates, with an email alert service for interested users
• Feeds– which pulls in related feeds from external sites such as Twitter

Paul Wilkinson said: "The dotCommunity application was ideal for our awards website, providing all the Web 2 functionality we needed straight out of the box. The site was quick and easy to build and customise."
