An Area Level Administrator is responsible for a sub-section of a dotCommunity service usually grouped by some common feature, and will have their own dotCommunity website.
The grouping is often configured to be a geographical area but can be any way of dividing up the websites, for example by usage type or some other logical boundary. The websites could even be split up into "areas" purely on the order they apply, to split up the management overhead. For more information on the administrator roles within dotCommunity please read the Members and Administrators Section of the manual.
Within the group of websites under their control an Area Administrator performs much of the day to day maintenance and running of the service as would the site wide administrators. This is centred around the management of the websites in their area.
